Registry Optimizer – The most appropriate Tool aimed at Making Your Computer blunder giveaway

Windows XP by Francisco Rosado

A new computer is just like a car, you will have no problems with it for the next 5 years. However after 5 years of operation or even less than that if you are a frequent user, you start to have problems with your machine. You start to drum your fingers because boot times becomes much more slower, applications start to freeze even when you only open a few programs. You get frequent program cashes and start loosing hair because you keep pulling them every time your word processor says “Program not responding” and you have failed to save your work. Worst, you frequently keep getting the dreaded “blue screen of death” which displays a bunch of numbers that you cannot even decipher.

So what happened to that lightning fast machine that you bought 5 years ago? Most of the time, the problem does not lie with the hardware but with the operating system. And when we talk about operating system, it cannot be denied that majority of the home computers around the world are run by the Microsoft windows machine. Although windows have improved a lot since the release of its first version, there are still problems with the operating system that has not been resolved until now.

Windows is considered by most PC experts as “bloat ware.” That is the operating system expands as it takes up more hard disk space and resources even without providing benefits to the end user the longer you use it and the more 3rd party applications you use. The following simple steps might not help you grow some of your hair back but it might help make your windows powered computer a little bit faster and save a few extra dollars from buying a wig or horse shampoo:

TIP 1: It's the registry dummy – A windows registry according to the Microsoft website is “The Registry contains information that Windows continually references during operation, such as profiles for each user, the applications installed on the computer and the types of documents that each can create, property sheet settings for folders and application icons, what hardware exists on the system, and the ports that are being used.” Your eyes must be rolling now as to what the heck does that mean. The windows registry is something like a Department of records or Department of health wherein all the births in a certain locality is recorded. In the department of records, the details of a birth certificate are recorded. Things like a child's name, father, mother, gender, place of birth are recorded. Similarly in windows, the details of every program installed and other quirk get recorded in the registry. The more programs you install the longer the registry list becomes. When you boot up and get into windows, the first thing that windows does is read the registry. So the more programs you have loaded through the years the more longer and cluttered the registry becomes, the longer it will take for windows to go through it and the more your fingers starts drumming as you wait for it to finish doing it.

Uninstalling programs will only help a little in cleaning up the registry because when you uninstall there are still little bits and pieces of codes of the program left in the registry. A third party application might do the trick. System Mechanic has a registry cleaning and compacting features. Problem is, you need to buy the software. However if you'd rather spend the money to buy a wig then you can do a manual clean up yourself by going through the registry yourself. This is not advisable for ordinary users since there is a possibility that you will damage the registry. A damaged registry will cause windows to crash. Hence it is recommended that you get a third party registry cleaner like system mechanic, or Registry mechanic. You can also get a free registry cleaner like Free Registry Fixer 3.9 or cc cleaner. Problem is you'll have to learn to use the software (Although it's just a simple point and click but some people might be too lazy to do that) There's just no such thing as free lunch.
